Everyone says they want change.
More peace. More energy. A life that feels lighter and more aligned.
But here’s the truth I’ve learned — both from my own journey and from working with people for nearly a decade: wanting change and being ready for it are two very different things.
Change isn’t magic.
It’s work.
It’s uncomfortable at times.
And it requires you to let go of the familiar (even when it’s not serving you) so you can create something better.
Before you dive into any healing journey, coaching program, or transformation process, it’s worth asking yourself these four honest questions.
1. Am I Willing to Take Responsibility for My Healing?
Here’s the hard truth: no one can do the work for you.
A coach, therapist, or mentor can guide you, equip you, and walk with you — but they can’t rescue you.
Taking responsibility doesn’t mean blaming yourself for what happened. It means accepting that only you can decide what happens next.
You get to choose whether you keep repeating old cycles or start building new ones.
Ask yourself:
- Am I ready to stop waiting for someone else to “fix” things for me?
- Am I willing to show up, even when it feels uncomfortable?
Because healing doesn’t begin when you find the perfect coach or the right program.
It begins the moment you decide: “I’m ready to do my part.”
2. Am I Ready to Be Uncomfortable (Temporarily)?
Real change doesn’t happen inside your comfort zone.
If you’re healing trauma, shifting deep patterns, or reprogramming your mindset, there will be moments where it feels messy.
Why?
Because your old self — the one who’s used to certain habits, thoughts, or even pain — will resist.
Your nervous system may feel shaky as it adjusts.
Your mind will want to cling to what’s familiar, even if it’s not good for you.
But this discomfort is temporary.
It’s not a sign that you’re failing. It’s a sign that you’re changing.
Ask yourself:
- Am I willing to sit with some discomfort, knowing it leads to something better?
- Am I prepared to trust the process, even when I don’t see the results immediately?
3. Am I Open to Trying New Tools and Perspectives?
Many people say they want change but secretly hope they can get it without… well, changing much.
They want a different life but want to keep the same habits, thoughts, and approaches.
The truth?
If what you’ve been doing worked, you wouldn’t be here reading this.
Transformation often requires us to try tools we haven’t used before — breathwork, nervous system regulation, emotional release techniques, or even nutrition changes that support healing at a cellular level.
It also requires us to look at things from new perspectives, sometimes letting go of beliefs we’ve held for years.
Ask yourself:
- Am I willing to experiment and explore, even if some tools feel unfamiliar at first?
- Am I open to guidance, or do I find myself resisting anything that feels new?
4. Am I Ready to Invest in Myself?
I’m not just talking about money (though yes, healing and coaching are investments).
I’m talking about time, energy, and commitment.
Are you willing to:
- Show up consistently for your sessions?
- Apply what you learn outside of those sessions?
- Make space in your life for growth — which sometimes means saying no to things (or people) that drain you?
Because transformation isn’t something you “squeeze in.”
It becomes part of how you live.
Ask yourself:
- Am I ready to prioritize myself without guilt?
- Am I prepared to give this process the space it needs to work?
If You Answered “Yes” to Most of These…
You’re not just wishing for change — you’re ready for it.
And that readiness is the most powerful catalyst there is.
If you answered “no” or “not sure” to some, that’s okay too. It doesn’t mean you can’t start. It just means you may need to work on building readiness first — maybe through smaller steps, self-reflection, or simply acknowledging where you’re at without judgment.
